Another Month Older :)

Rose celebrated 15 months this Tuesday! We are always so excited with the new things she is accomplishing each month:
- is using both a fork and spoon to eat
- can throw balls (and just about any other item)
- knows 5 body parts and is working on a few others
- will point and get items upon request (if she is in the mood)
- chases after bugs (I kind of wish she would find them icky and run away)
- using some more words...I think daddy and dada are the most consistent things she says, but she has also been heard to say (approximations): grandpa, matt, josh, blanket, paci, k (for ok), and I got it.

Rose celebrated her 15 months with her favorite activities: sand and water :)

This was followed by dinner outside

Which was followed by a bath :)

So when Rose was learning to walk she did the 'zombie' walk (arms out front)...Now she is doing the 'superhero' (please don't tell her she really can't fly)

Rose is also very excited for the Olympics and is cheering for Team USA!

If Rose could pick an Olympic Sport, she would recommend the 'ball dump' at which she is a gold metal favorite :)

This week the Kefauver cousins are coming to PA for the annual Bechtel Clambake, I am sure Rose will have an awesome weekend with her cousins and lots of pictures to share.

Sunday Snap Shots

Well, I am starting the blog earlier in the day, so as not to be too tired tonight to adequately report on all of Rose's activities this week (end).

Rose's week was pretty uneventful...except for Friday! Justin and I took Friday off weeks ago to plan a play date with Brahm and his parents (Jeremy and Becky). Plan A was to head to Knoebels and the weather looked great, until Thursday. So we went with Plan B and enjoyed lunch and playtime at the Jacob's home.

Rose would have spent most the the visit moving these chairs around if we had let her.

Brahm was very kind to share his ball pit, unfortunately or fortunately...Rose could not dump them!

Justin said I looked 'mean' in this picture :) But look at Becky's cute pregnant belly, we can't wait to meet Anna!

This was Rose's longest car ride yet and she couldn't have done much better. We planned the trip up and back for her nap times, she didn't take super naps either way, but did sleep some. In September we have to make it all the way to Virginia beach...we'll see how that goes.

Rose is also continuing to perfect her use of the spoon and fork. This week she ate some cereal with daddy.

Rose is also continuing to perfect her destroying abilities

Daddy did help her in the lower drawer, but she was climbing on it, she is also climbing on chairs and trying to do pull ups on the table...

Saturday we again went to the Fairgrounds Farmer's Market. Rose got some delicious organic blackberries that were washed immediately for her consumption :) We tried a new stand for lunch and I had one of the best Gyros I've eaten. There is so much stuff there, we keep saying next week we have to get that...and then we still find more stuff.

Sunday we went to church with papa and nana. Rose does well in the Sanctuary for singing, but by the sermon time she is ready to play with her friends in the nursery.

We also headed to the local park for a family walk this weekend and daddy picked Rose a flower.

This coming week Rose hits 15 months! She does have a height/weight check on Friday, just to keep track of our little flower's growth, but will not have another well visit until 18 months. So we'll have lots to report next week.

Sunday Snap Shots

Ok, I am tired, so this is going to be short and sweet :)

Justin and I knocked out home projects this weekend and while that feels really good to be done, we are tired!

So here is what Rose was up to this week(end).

Rose has discovered that it is just as fun (maybe more?) to draw on things besides paper...

On Saturday we did take a family outing to the Fairgrounds Farmer's Market. I HIGHLY recommend visiting this place. They have organic fruit, veggies, meats, and cheeses along with lots of local items and wonderful soft pretzels (Rose loved hers!).

And Rose thought it was wonderful to carry my purse around her neck...she did this all weekend...

Rose also tried to be helpful...

Which was fitting, since she is the one making all the messes!

And of course, there was LOTS of time outside. Look how convenient daddy made it for Rose to play in both sand and water, what a great guy!

Sunday Snap Shots

Ok here is your weekly Rose fix :)

I was a little hesitant how this week would work out since July 4th fell on a Wednesday and meant that Rose's normal schedule would be all switched around since she would be home with mommy and daddy. We spent the first part of the day trimming the bushes (unfortunately Justin is now suffering from poison ivy) and then spent the late afternoon and evening with Justin's family for dinner and pool time. I am so happy that Rose loves being in the pool. Justin and I are not really pool people, but it is really fun to play around with Rose and a great way to stay cool.

We also tackled the morning bottle this week. Rose has been getting carsick on the ride to grandma's house with daddy in the morning, so we decided that maybe all that milk first thing was not sitting well for her and to drop the bottle (I think it was more his driving than anything...). Of course, Rose was a super champ and now just gets some watered down juice in her straw cup before heading out with daddy :) This seems to be doing the trick and daddy is really happy to not have to clean the car seat every day!

Rose has pretty much mastered pointing to her head and tummy, so now we are moving on to her feet...this week while having a yummy snack of blueberries, I asked her where her feet were....

She totally looked under her tray and wiggled her feet, what a little smartie :)

Rose is also very helpful with chores. Rose can dust, empty the dryer, and stack diapers!

Here are some cute bum shots with diapers she picked out to wear.

Rose has also become quit good as making a mess...Rose loves to dump her ball pit and throw her balls around...

So this weekend we got a couple more containers to {attempt} to control the chaos.

We ended the weekend with dinner in Womelsdorf with our first neighbors. Rose was very interested in a real phone...I don't think she has every seen a phone with a cord on it before :)

Rose also got to meet a cat...I think we will stick to being dog people!

Oh, and thanks to Pinterest I made a yummy dessert of Cookie Dough Cheesecake Bars, yes Rose did get to try them and thought they were very good.

Have a great week!
