AUGUST 2024

 

We enjoyed all summer had to offer before getting our girl ready for school again.

While we had school to get ready for at the end of the month, getting supplies included girls lunch at IKEA...

and new shoes (this is a dad job).

We made sure to get some more fun times in...

The month started off with a family picnic and a trip to Turkey Hill Experience with cousins. 

ALL the ice cream was eaten :)

Rose had a pesky stuck tooth that we needed some help removing

But the tooth fairy still delivered :)

And she played in her summer orchestra concert...she's in the picture, see if you can spot her!

We had to say 'see you later' to some of our family who are starting a new adventure out in Illinois. I will miss my fall buddies :(

And we checked off the third amusement park of the summer with a trip to Dorney Park!

BUT Rose's favorite ride was Iron Menace...she rode it almost 2 dozen times, Justin did not make it that many!

Our family skeleton no longer has all his limbs attached so as you do with skeletons, we planted him!

I highly recommend skeletons for optimal plant growth ;)

 And upgraded to a larger skeleton ;)

With some cooler days in August we set up our fire pit and enjoyed a lot of fires.

And nothing says fall is coming like PSL!

Justin braved Philly traffic to take us to The Met to see Walk Off the Earth and Lindsey Sterling!!!

Both of these performers were amazing!! It was a great experience :)

Rose had so many adventures and made tons of memories this summer. We are grateful for all the family that included Rose in their activities!!

Rose has started 7th grade and had a great first week!! 

We took off for Labor Day weekend with a trip to western PA and stayed at Keystone State Park. This is the farthest trip for our camper and our first time in several years making it back out. We had a terrific time at the camp ground and traveling around the area including going into Pittsburg.

We made it out on the lake (Rose made it in the lake!)

We even won these prizes at the visitor center for completing an activity!

Rose requested butterflies and lucky for us this was the final weekend the Phipps Botanical Garden had their butterfly display available. 

We made it to two of Justin's favorite breweries

We tried Raising Cane's for the first time

And Justin and Rose tried Nothing but Bundt for the first time

We enjoyed beautiful evenings on the lake and at our campsite. 

We played the lottery, but didn't win, so we had to pack up...
