August 2018

August was full of family and adventure! We started off the month with a visit from Rose's Virginia cousins and took them to the Adventure Aquarium. This was the closest we have ever been to penguins or sharks!

Our next great adventure was heading north to the land where Justin grew up! We have been meaning to take this trip for years and finally made it happen!

We got to see Misty

And the Lockport Locks

Who doesn't need a very large apple in their town :)

Rose also got to enjoy her first Tim Hortons, I've converted her from Dunkin Donuts :)

We headed to Buffalo for a day of exploring by the canal and Science Museum.

Rose enjoyed her first paddle boat experience...

and learned about making healthy choices from all the food groups :)

From New York we headed to Canada and stopped at Niagra Falls. I have always wanted to take the boat into the falls, now I never have to do that again, lol!

A much drier way to see the falls was from the Sky Wheel :)

But maybe our favorite way to see the falls was at night!

Especially with fireworks!

We then went on to Toronta and had a fun filled day at the Toronto Zoo. Fun Fact: Toronto Zoo is the 5th largest zoo in the world...the largest is in Nebraska! Anyway we did not see even half of what the zoo had to offer, but loved our day learning about lots of awesome animals.

The zoo also had a splash pad, which definitely made it a good day for Rose!

Rose even found a snake to pet...somehow this kid always makes friends with the snakes :)

The following day we checked out the Toronto Science Center, lots of learning on this family vacation!

We also found the most amazing small batch ice cream in bubble waffle cones...this is a happy mommy :)

We visited High Park, which rivals the Mohnton playground for largest wooden playground we have played on.

And again a splash pad...Rose loved Canada for all the water :)

Nothing helps get over the vacation blues like some beer and when you can hit up a favorite beer in it's original brewery, you do that!

We also stopped at a park for Rose on the way home.

Because we needed to fit in more fun we also made a trip to Knoebels

And Rose added a bit of green hair.

We ended summer gymnastics

And Rose decided to start dance classes again

We met up with friends for breakfast

And celebrated cousin Lydia's first birthday

As if this month wasn't already packed full, Rose started first grade!!
