Weekly Review

Our week:
Monday we started out the week with our usual routine. We play at home, went to a speech session, and played more J We also got a new delivery of hair ties both big ones for mommy and baby ones for Rose!

Tuesday Justin and I celebrated our 8th Wedding Anniversary. After a doctor’s appointment for Rose she stayed with grandma while we went shopping! Justin was a great sport and took me to IKEA and then out to lunch, this is why we are happily married J We didn’t forget our little girl and found a cute little table for her play house; she loves it!

Wednesday was back to our normal routine. I took Rose to her riding lesson and then we went to grandma’s for a dip in the pool together. Rose is lucky to have grandparents with a pool. She has gone swimming multiple times a week, but this was my first dip in the pool for the year.

Thursday was another speech session and then we went to a local park before picking up some groceries. Rose and I also prepped dinner for her and daddy…pancakes! In case you missed it, this jammy dress (that’s what we call it) is Rose’s new favorite outfit and she wears it often!

Friday Rose and I did not take lunch for my grandparents due to their having multiple appointments and being out all day, so we just enjoyed the morning at home. yes, she is again wearing her jammy dress...I do wash it :)

Saturday we had a playdate with Ethan and Liam (and their mommy Rachel). At times Rose loves playing with other kiddos and sometimes she is shy. Either way we had a great morning with the boys!

ALSO on Saturday Rose became a cousin! Uncle Bruce and Aunt Kate welcomed Bruce Richard Bechtel III late Saturday afternoon. Everyone is doing well and Rose can’t wait to meet cousin Bruce J

Sunday we enjoyed a nice day home getting lots of time to play and finish chores. We ended the weekend with a trip to a local yogurt bar. Rose LOVED it :)

Happy 8!

Hi Rose J
You’re mommy and daddy are celebrating their 8th Wedding Anniversary….just look at those silly  kids in that picture! We were young, especially your daddy ;) But I think being young, crazy, and in love has worked out for us. We've been through a lot (together) in the past 8 years and now we are not so young, still crazy, and definitely in love.

I am sure someday you will ask about love and what it is…so this is the best answer I have: it’s holding hands just because, it’s cleaning the bathroom because you know the other person really hates it, it’s letting the other person pick where to eat/the TV show/ movie/ music in the car, its buying someone flowers even though they don’t last, it’s letting the other person win (even when you know you’re right!).  Well that’s what your daddy does for me and I definitely feel VERY loved J

Here’s a quick recap of some of the events over the past 8 years:
-We welcomed 1 amazing baby girl into our family,
-Owned 2 homes,
-Traveled to 3 different beaches for vacations,
-Daddy had 4 trips to urgent care/ER (probably should have had more…),
-We had 5 dogs in our home at once when we were fostering dogs
-Traveled to 6 different states on vacations,
-Owned 7 vehicles (although daddy has had a few more that just sat around the yard!),
-Worked at 8 different jobs (mommy worked 2 different positions at 2 different companies),
and made more wonderful memories than can be counted!

It was a HOT week, but that didn’t slow us down from enjoying every moment together that we could!

Monday we spent time outside (trying to stay in the shade) playing babies. Meow also loves to be outside no matter how hot it is! Notice what Rose is wearing? Yup, this kiddo still loves her PJ's over any cute outfit in her wardrobe :)

Justin found us our 'new' Jeep on Monday. We decided to go with a Grand Cherokee over another Liberty for a few different reasons, mostly since this will be our only family vehicle, so we can comfortable travel together. Now I have the same vehicle as my mommy! Rose thinks this is great and says we 'match'!

Tuesday we went to a local park and Justin surprised us with an ice coffee for me and donut for Rose :)

Rose and I went to a story time Wednesday with Elmo. Rose is very shy around costumed characters and initially wanted nothing to do with Elmo. I was surprised when she agreed to give him a ‘high-five’, danced with him, sat next to him, and gave him a hug!

And since Justin had to travel for work and we didn't expect him home for dinner, Nana and Pop took Rose out for dinner and ice cream (what a rough day she had)!

Thursday we just hung out around home after Rose’s speech session, I think we both felt kinda blah… Justin took Rose to her riding session and she got to ride a REALLY tiny little pony, just her size :) Isn't that the cutest little thing?

Friday was a great day. Every day we diligently keep at Rose's speech therapy by practicing her sounds. We try and make it fun with lots of praise and activities.

After we enjoyed our morning together and then at great-grandma’s request we delivered a large mushroom pizza for lunch! After lunch Rose was busy playing with great-grandpa

We took it easy on Saturday and got our weekly chores and some house projects accomplished. Rose is a great helper with dusting and even insisted on mopping up the floor...unfortunately she thought leaving huge water puddles on the floor was a good idea ;)

The highlight of the week was Sunday evening. We went to Union Jack’s to watch a friend’s husband’s band play and meet up with some of our friends. Rose loves eating out and had a great time with the other little kids and dancing to the band. Although my phone died before I could get some pictures, my favorite part was watching Rose run around with the other little kids :)

Happy Father's Day

So it was a rainy week and that meant we had to find lots of fun things to do inside between dashes outside to play between raindrops :)

We brought the car inside and Rose drove her babies to Nana's house

We also played A LOT with play dough...I think I'm still finding it all over the house :)

We also got to paint nails, surprisingly Rose did end up getting most of it on my toenails!

Rose and daddy sent me pics of their enjoying cookies and coffee...made me jealous :(

We also read tons of books, Rose's favorite is the photo album I had put together of Rose's first 3 months...she also continues to insist that she is a 'baby'. Well, she'll always be my baby :)

Oh and one of my favorite rain days activities, cleaning out drawers!

This week felt reeeeaaaallllyyyy long :( I was so excited about Saturday to spend time together as a family. Justin decided to head out in the morning, though, to look at some new Jeeps to replace ours, but didn't like the ones he found. Then right before he got home all our water stopped working! After Justin got home and talked to my uncle (who is a supervisor at a local plumbing contractor) he tried a few things, but they decided the pump was dead. My uncle came up and helping Justin pull up 144 feet of piping to get to the pump! Also luckily, my uncle had what we needed in stock and was able to go get us a new one. My dad also came up and the three of them had it all done in only a couple hours. This reminds me how thankful I am for family and that we live so close!

Rose and I were the supervisors of this project because she wanted a job too :)

Rose and I made some Father's Day pies on Saturday and we decided to eat them a little early to make us all feel better :)

Sunday was a much better day! After Justin let me sleep in :) I made him his favorite breakfast: sausage and gravy with homemade biscuits.

After church we took my dad and mom out to lunch because Rose LOVES to 'eat out'! Funny moment: At the end of the meal the waiter asked if anyone wanted dessert and without a pause Rose says 'ME ME ME!' And Rose got her dessert :)

Rose and I made Justin a card because we love homemade things and Rose loves finger paints :)

Rose and I are both very thankful to have wonderful father's in our lives! Happy Father's Day!

Weekly Wrap Up

I can’t say enough about how much the change in work schedule is working out for spending time with Rose.
I get to let Rose stay in her PJ’s as long as we want or until we need to leave the house. We make what we want for breakfast and lunch (most days we also prep dinner for her and daddy). I attend all her therapy appointments, take her to her riding lessons, and lately we’ve had a standing lunch date on Friday’s with my grandparents. This Thursday Justin brought us Chick-fil-a for a lunch date with his girls.  We play, make big messes, do TONS of laundry, and just have fun! Rose and Justin are also adjusting well to their evening routines. Monday Rose even convinced Justin to take her out for dinner, lucky girl J

On the less positive side: Justin and I see each other less, I get less sleep, and grandma and nana see Rose less…It’s been an adjustment for everyone, but I feel that it was the right choice for our family!

So here's our week in pictures:
