Smashed, Cracked, and Beautiful :)

So in the past week Justin totally smashed his Iphone,

my windshield became cracked,

and Rose has shown us how beautiful life is each and every day!

Here's why even some broken glass didn't keep us from having a great week with Rose:

We spent as much time as possible outside in the beginning of the week

Rose had another riding lesson on Wednesday and this was her first time in an English saddle.

Rose also made her first horse show appearance on Sunday in the 'lead line' class. Rose did a terrific job staying on her pony and listening to Aunt Kate. She got a ribbon for each of the 4 classes she competed in and another bag full of candy!

We took Rose Trick or Treating on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday Rose decided to be' Super Rose' and we stopped at Uncle Bruce's and Aunt Kate's

And then Nana and Papa's

Rose didn't get just candy (which she did get plenty of...) but also a couple other treats including SOAP! ...long story short our little flower loves to play with real soap and there was a gasp of excitement when she pulled this out of the bag.

Sunday after a nap, we headed to grandma and grandpa's and then great-grandma and great-grandpa's for some more candy. Rose wasn't as sure what to dress-up as, so daddy picked out her pirate costume :)

She even had a little birdie to complete her outfit ;)

At the great's there is this special box of toys reserved for little children who visit.

Happy Half Birthday Rose! On Thursday Rose celebrated her ½ birthday…hey, I’m her mom, so I can celebrate these things if I want too ;)
What Rose is up to at 2 ½ :
-eating a variety of foods with fruits and candy as favorites
-sleeping like a champ ( 2+ hour naps and 11+ hours at night)
-panties during the day (just diapers at nap and bed *still going strong with just cloth diapers on her cute little bum*)
-can dress and undress several items of clothing and definitely picks out what she wants to wear
-using about 50-75 words (these are mostly approximations, but we are getting there!)
-jumping and dancing like a fool J
-awesome play skills especially with babies
-starting to trace letters
-can show 1-5 with her fingers and understands those numbers
-favorite activities: outside, playgrounds, painting, horses, babies, doll house, and trains

(Rose put the baby on the daddy's lap...this is often how she requests to eat her dinner too!)

Weekly Wrap Up

What I've learned this week: If you make a mistake, fix it sooner, rather than later :)

Unfortunately we had the opportunity to learn from this lesson the hard way this week. Back in May when my Jeep when inspected we picked it back up and forgot to get the spare key. The garage mailed it to us, but the envelope arrived empty :( Somewhere in postal oblivion is our second Jeep key. I don't know why Justin never got a spare key (and to be fair, I could have figured out how to get a spare myself, but well, we never did). Saturday morning after the farmer's market Justin headed down to Harleysville while I hung out with Rose until it was time for music class. After packing our bag, having one final pee, and loading everything into the Jeep (you know where this is going) yup, Justin had taken our one and only key with him. Since he was already 30 minutes away and music class would be starting in 20 minutes, there was no way we would make it. I cried :( I love taking Rose to our music group and was really upset that something that should have been taken care of months ago cost us our Saturday morning activity. To wrap up this story, Justin came home with 3 spare keys...

Other than that, we really have had a good week!

Tuesday Justin and I took off of work to celebrate my 31st birthday with shopping and lunch!

We also picked Rose up right after her nap and had some family time at a local park :) I am grateful and blessed to get to celebrate another year!

My mom got me some baked doughnut mixes and along with my little helper, we whipped up a batch of pumpkin doughnuts to enjoy this weekend :)

Since we had more time than originally planned Saturday morning, we decided to get our pumpkins  after Justin returned home. After nap time we carved them. I am not a crafty pumpkin carving person, unlike Justin, who can really do a great job. So, Rose and I broke out the power tools and just had fun drilling our pumpkins!

Rose has also been insisting on all types of train track concoctions. We even took our trains outside when then weather was nice enough.

Building train tracks is draining, so Rose and Tahnee needed a popcorn break ;)

Sunday morning, shortly after this picture was taken of Rose watching the washer, Justin sat on her stairs and busted them :( Really it was poor craftsmanship, he did not glue together the boards and only used brads...

So, I had him rebuild it (with glue and screws) taking off the top step since our little flower is growing so fast!

Sunday night Nana and Papa came for dinner and Nana also had this sweet thrift store find for Rose :)
